ELOS continues to slide. A perfect example of why we sell when down 7%. If we'd held we'd be down close to 40%. I thought it would come back at 7. It hurt at the time but it feels good now.

Neoware (NWRE) is still going strong. Cramer mentioned it in a lightning round. His take: don't sell yet. With a little luck we'll be selling before he presses the sell button.

Buying NeoWare (NWRE) at the 50 day ma pull back paid off. Since our buy in, it is up 14%.

I took the knowledge of the 50 day MA pull back and a few days ago come up with Adobe (ADBE) as a potential purchase. Looking at it today I think I woud have been been a hero if I mentioned it to anyone other than the little voice in my head.

50 Day MA Pull Back Revisited

Neoware Systems Inc. (NWRE) is in perfect buying position after a pull back to it's 50 day moving average. It hit it's 50 day MA at 10:00am and then moved higher throughout the day. Neoware is number 2 for stock performance in the Computer-Manufacturer group behind Apple (AAPL). It's always a good sign when a stock has strong company in it's group. Since we all got shook out of Syneron (ELOS), maybe this is a good place to put the money.

So much for the morning surge. My line was down 0.81 today. ELOS went down .87 and then 1.27 so I sold at 40.75 for an overall loss of 8.2%.

Syneron (ELOS) recovered a little over night. Up 0.98 (2.35%). Trading's only just begun but there's a chance of avoiding the shakeout.

Best Buy (BBY) took a kick in the balls today. Huge drop on massive volume. Serves them right for not getting me an Xbox. They pulled a Symantec and missed their numbers.

If I shake out tomorrow I migth go into Talx Corp (TALX) or Microstrategy (MSTR). MSTR is ready to bust out huge.

As long as we're in Comp Sftwr-Ent, take a look at Astea (ATEA). Would have been nice to have bought two months ago. Good numbers are fun.

The 50 Day Moving Average Pull Back

Since the prince doesn't want to do any reading, I thought I'd post a little something for him with few words and lots of pictures. First, a word about moving averages.

A moving average as defined by the investorpedia: " A moving average is calculated by adding the closing price of the security for a number of time periods and then dividing this total by the number of time periods."

The 50-day moving average is often a key support price for a stock that is being accumulated by institutional investors. Check out the chart of Apple computer (AAPL) below. After a strong break-out, the stock fell back to the 50 day moving average (the red line) in mid october. At that time, I mentioned it to mo, because he said he missed his chance to get in to apple over the summer when it was forming it's base. Apple has had quite a run up since then.

As another example, one a little more recent, the graph below shows the chart for Somenatecs Corp (SMTS). 3 days ago it fell back to it's 50 day moving average. It has since started moving up again.

The point of all this is that if you are following a stock, with highly-rated fundementals, and it broke out of a sound base, had a good run up, and it then pulls back to it's 50 day moving average, there is a buying opportunity. It should be noted that the buying opportunity occurs once the stock starts moving back up again. Just intersecting the 50 day moving average is not enough as the stock could be forming a new base.

One last example. In the chart above, Ceradyne inc (CRDN) shows multiple pull backs to the 50 day moving average. Each pull back has recovered and continued upwards. The next couple of days will tell the story on the latest pull back. Either the stock will recover, or it will start forming a new base.

The final damage to Syneron (ELOS) for the day stands at 9.35%. I think this is a combination of cramer saying to get out and the lawsuit against Cutera (CUTR) by Palomar (PMTI) . Cutera is down 34%.

Cramer's screwing us.

Atlas (ATLS) tanked because of him but it's back (Wish I hadn't been so quick to sell) and heading for new high ground. If today's fed announcement teams up with Cramer and shakes me out of Syneron I'll just have to find something new. Bankrate (RATE) and TOM Online (TOMO) look promising.

CMTL doesn't have anything on Cutera (CUTR). A+ on IBD but it's getting killed today on really high volume. Something strange in the Medical group.

1) Check out CMTL in IBD. Best in group fundementals, broke out of a base-on-base pattern, then disaster. wtf?

2) DXPE. IDB top 100. Market cap less then 100 million. Forming cup...

Cramer said to ditch ELOS, now we are down 2.8% ($1.30) in afterhours. He said to buy CYNO instead. It's up 15% in afterhours. When you see the IDB checkup on CYNO, you are going to laugh.
